چکیده

Fermat-Weber problem in its simple form (unconstrained, single facility, Euclidean metric) is well investigated. Lot of algorithms are also developed for more complicated cases. But the generalized multi-facility problem with barriers, restricted zones and an arbitrary metric has no well-known algorithm for its solving. In this paper, we consider the planar multi-facility Weber problem with restricted zones and nonEuclidean distances, propose an algorithm based on the probability changing method and prove its efficiency for approximate solving of the Weber problem by replacing the continuous coordinate values with discrete ones. An example for a problem with discrete coordinate system 200x400 is given. Version of the algorithm for multiprocessor systems is proposed.

Solving single facility goal Weber location problem using stochastic optimization methods

Location theory is one of the most important topics in optimization and operations research. In location problems, the goal is to find the location of one or more facilities in a way such that some criteria such as transportation costs, customer traveling distance, total service time, and cost of servicing are optimized. In this paper, we investigate the goal Weber location problem in which the...

An Effective Approach for Robust Metric Learning in the Presence of Label Noise

Many algorithms in machine learning, pattern recognition, and data mining are based on a similarity/distance measure. For example, the kNN classifier and clustering algorithms such as k-means require a similarity/distance function. Also, in Content-Based Information Retrieval (CBIR) systems, we need to rank the retrieved objects based on the similarity to the query. As generic measures such as ...

A Benders' Decomposition Method to Solve Stochastic Distribution Network Design Problem with Two Echelons and Inter-Depot Transportation

In many practical distribution networks, managers face significant uncertainties in demand, local price of building facilities, transportation cost, and macro and microeconomic parameters. This paper addresses design of distribution networks in a supply chain system which optimizes the performance of distribution networks subject to required service level. This service level, which is consider...

Composite Kernel Optimization in Semi-Supervised Metric

Machine-learning solutions to classification, clustering and matching problems critically depend on the adopted metric, which in the past was selected heuristically. In the last decade, it has been demonstrated that an appropriate metric can be learnt from data, resulting in superior performance as compared with traditional metrics. This has recently stimulated a considerable interest in the to...

Robot Motion Vision Pait I: Theory

A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary environment. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses the rotational velocity in terms of the translational velocity. The combination of this constraint equation with the Brightness-Change Constraint Equation solves the gene...
